Iraivan is a Tamil-language psycho thriller film written and directed by I. Ahmed. The film stars Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara, and Narain in the lead roles. It was released on September 28, 2023.
Plot:
A police officer (Jayam Ravi) races against time to catch a psychopath (Narain), who is also the reason behind the deaths of his loved ones.
Review:
Iraivan is a well-made psycho thriller with powerful characters. Jayam Ravi and Narain give excellent performances, and Nayanthara is also good in her supporting role. The film has some exciting sequences, such as the interval stretch and the very final scene.
However, the film also has its flaws. The motive of the villain is not entirely convincing, and the writing gets a bit weaker in certain places. Additionally, the director's decision to make all the losses personal to the protagonist doesn't work much.
Overall, Iraivan is an average watch. It is a well-made film with good performances, but the writing could have been better.
